NIKE LEBRON 9 “WEATHERMAN” CUSTOM BY SAB-ONE

When Kevin Durant’s “Weatherman” colorway for the Nike Zoom KDIV came out, it was predicted by some to be the next “NERF” or “South Beach” in color flip customs, but quickly slipped under the radar (no pun intended) when the “Galaxy” phenomenon swept the community. Some of the bigger names in customs didn’t forget this highly compelling makeup, and Sab-One recently took to a staple in color flips to show how well it could cross over. His Lebron 9 custom matches the color palette almost perfectly, and recreated the Doppler Radar pattern on the ankle and inside the shoe.

Sab works almost exclusively in one-offs, but you can ask for your own at his site.

NIKE BASKETBALL “GALAXY” COLLECTION SHOWDOWN
On February 24th, the much anticipated “Galaxy” pack drops from the Nike camp. After the Nike Air Foamposite One “Galaxy”s became one of the most coveted shoes in streetwear, sneakerheads are arguing over which of these three immensely popular models is the best look with the cosmic redesign.
While the Lebron 9 shoes don’t feature the interstellar print quite as predominately as the other two, all three of these sneaker designs are compelling in their own ways.
And from someone with behind the scenes access, I can tell you that the “Galaxy” print is the next trend in custom footwear hype bait. Trust me, you are going to see a lot of “Galaxy” customs in the very near future.

NIKE “BLACK HISTORY MONTH” COLLECTION UNBOXING VIDEO

Made popular by customizers like JBF, the custom-billed snapback penetrates Nike’s February releases with the “Black History Month” pack, which also sees an original shirt design, themed KD IV, Kobe VII, AF1, and Lebron 9 releases.

NiceKicks Austin gives a walkthrough of the pack in their latest video.

NIKE LEBRON 9 “SUMMIT LAKE HORNETS”

From the “Big Bang,” to the “Griffey,” and “Dunkman,” to the “China” Year of the Dragon LeBron 9s, this year we are getting pelted with BronBron colorways. It’s almost as if Nike is trying to inspire sneakerheads to build entire wardrobes of solely this model. The newest colorway may be the most compelling yet, however, with a throwback Hornets feel in fresh teal and purple.

No release date as of yet, but you can expect them early this year.

NIKE ZOOM KOBE VII “NERF” BY MACHE CUSTOMS

Mache has no problem taking the hottest colorway in the sneaker game right now and applying it to the hottest shoes, even if he is keeping this pair for himself. After making over $4,000 on his “NERF” LeBron 9’s, Mache decided to give the scheme one more go before moving on to something else.

The result is, in my opinion, his best “NERF” pair yet. I love the Kobe VII base, and because one can order his own colorway through NikeID, it’s a very diverse shoe. Mache didn’t feel like waiting for a Nike ID pair, however, and instead worked out of a Christmas Day “Cheetah” Zoom Kobe VII as his base.

The end result is heat and you can try to convince him to sell you a pair by contacting him here.

Nike sat down with Freegums to discuss his redesign of the LeBron 9.

The pattern he created looks even more impressive when you can see the whole thing, and to hear him talk about the reason why he made some of the black and white patterned decisions he made makes the shoes that much more attractive.
