FREAKER SNEAKS “END OF AN ERA” CUSTOM JORDAN V LASER X REEBOK ALIFE PUMPS

Sneaker customizer Freaker Sneaks has been in both the sneaker game and the customs game for a long time, and decided he was getting tired of what he was seeing on both fronts. With sneaker collecting devolving to a level of sitting in front of your computer being told what’s hyped and then beasting your way to a pair, the game has turned into a popularity contest where only those with the most hype bait are revered.

Customs have suffered a similar and related fate; since the trend of sneaker blogs like Nice Kicks picking up only customs based on Lebron 9s, Kobe VIIs, and Foamposites crammed together with South Beach, Galaxy, and NERF themes, the customizing world has turned into one where only those with the strongest hype radar survive.

Freaker got tired of this, and decided to do something unheard of. For years, touching an Air Jordan was all but illegal in sneaker customizing. Until Mizzee and others made it acceptable in the mid 2000s, no one would dare work on Js. A similar feeling is present for any shoes with holy grail status like the alife x Reebok Pumps, which not only feature the neon orange tennis ball felt, but real pumps in the tongues as well.

With both of these pairs on ice, beckoning to never be sold with the never-ending promise of an increased price point if he waited just ten years to sell them, Freaker decided to do the unthinkable and mix two different brands with a tongue swap and midsole color flip. The result is an incredibly inspired and unique pair of sneakers that will surely polarize all sneaker communities, though his response in customizing circles has been very positive thus far. What do you think?

GHOST IN THE SHELL X REEBOK INSTA PUMP FURY “TACHIKOMA”

After the timely, recently announced collaboration with Marvel, Reebok has stepped its nerd game up even higher with the announcement of its popular anime Ghost in the Shell-themed sneakers that fit perfectly on the Insta Pump Fury. The classic inflation system, neoprene and mesh upper, and a multi-shade outsole really makes sure that the futuristic sneaker fits the theme. More details to come.

MARVEL X REEBOK LIMITED EDITION SNEAKERS

It’s very rare that a sneaker release coincides with a pop culture theme and fits the bill to perfection, but these limited edition Marvel character kicks come very close. The shoes are designed with the characters in mind, like the black and yellow Wolverine kicks with black fur to match the hero’s hairy arms. The insoles of the shoes feature cool illustrations of their respective characters, and you can expect to pick your favorite one in the coming weeks.

REEBOK ZIGACTIVATE

With a contrast between the neutral makeup of the upper and the brightly colored fade of the sole, the new Reebok ZigActivate is an eye-catching runner. The shoes feature innovative cushioning with Zigtech support as well as prominent branding that pays heavily into the design of the shoe. These shoes will certainly serve well to turn heads while they run buy.

REEBOK PUMP OMNI HLS

Black and orange is an under-utilized colorway, as is white/orange. Reebok’s new Pump Omni Lite duo takes the color combos and expertly places them on one of their more compelling sneaker silhouettes. The black/orange pair features both suede and leather in its relatively simple layout, while the white/orange shoes are all leather. The shoes should drop sometime soon.

REEBOK QUESTION MID WHITE/NAVY PREVIEWED ON SWIZZ BEATZ’ INSTAGRAM

Remember when Allen Iverson debuted the first sneakers with Hexalite cushion technology ever to grace a Reebok show? Remember when the shoe became a smash hit amongst sneakerheads? And then do you remember when Iverson crossed the hell out of Michael Jordan? When that happened, the Answer was wearing a new colorway of the Question sneaker, not the Red/White model confirmed for rerelease recently.
But rumor has it that the sneaker will also be dropping in this classic White/Navy colorway, and Swizz Beatz recently took to Instagram to preview the shoe. Swizz claims that “the Sun will shine on May 25th when the AI Questions drop,” which makes it seem that both models will emerge from the Reebok Vault exclusively and together. Stay tuned for more info.

REEBOK IVERSON QUESTION MID RERELEASE

The Question was a sneaker that was meant to represent a player whose flashy style and cocky attitude was seen as not applicable to the NBA, until he won Rookie of the Year in 1996. The shoe soon became one of Reebok’s best-selling sneakers of all time, and began topping must-have sneaker lists around the country. Honey-comb shaped Hexalite cushioning became a Reebok icon and defined the shoe to those who loved to wear it.

On May 25th, the sneaker will release again for an exclusive drop in the original white and red colorway with a pearlized toe. The limited time release will then go back into the Reebok Vault, and marks the only time since 1996 that the shoe can be purchased with the original pearlized toe. You can pick the shoes up at Reebok’s online store.

REEBOK ZIG ENCORE JOHN WALL PE “STAY FRESH”

John Wall may have had a rough year on a team that slightly underachieved, but he found his few moments in the spotlight such as his performance in the Rookie/Sophomore game of the NBA All-Star Weekend. He is again finding praise as the Player Edition of his Reebok Zig Encore follows the “Beyond the Gold’ release with a “Stay Fresh” colorway that is sure to sell quickly.

The pair commemorates one of Wall’s favorite shows, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, evidenced by the bright green and blue draping the upper and sitting above a pink and yellow sole. Only 148 pairs of this hype bait will be produced, and sold at very select Footlocker locations. If you want a pair check out the list of locations quickly.

JUN WATANABE X ATMOS X TAMIYA X REEBOK INSTA PUMP FURY/RC CAR
