INTERVIEW: BRICK HARBOR BRAND PROFILE - HUF

Running an art gallery and working in a fashion-related artistic field, the strongest struggle I find amongst my peers is the desire to stay true to an original plan while still making money. It’s the tightrope we all walk. Some figure out how to do it better than others, like HUF brand’s founder Keith Hufnagel. The artist, skater, and entrepreneur started with a simple line of tees sold in his retail store alongside much more popular brands, and years later has very naturally grown that into a line of clothing that simply makes sense. This interview from retailer Brick Harbor describes the process a bit, giving hope to those that want to work in fashion but are afraid of selling their soul, and also gives a bit more help to those of you who don’t know if you’ll be able to keep skating once you go gray, as the video also highlights Hufnagel in the City tearing it up.

PARRA “WEIRDED OUT” MURAL INSTALLATION AT SAN FRANCISCO MUSEUM OF MODERN ART

Parra is one of ASCK’s favorite artists, and when he gets recognition on a large scale, we celebrate. The San Francisco Museum of Modern Art has become ‘weirded out’ this month, and they have released teaser images for a large and striking mural from the Amsterdam-based artist.

You can almost see the Amsterdam in the work of art that features his signature monochromatic, mutt-like creatures that meld birds and sexy ladies together in violence and cartoon style. The huge mural display is done solely in acrylic and opens March 31st, running into July. Find details below.
