NIKE ZOOM ROOKIE “GALAXY” OFFICIAL RELEASE DATE

With the original release date slated for this coming Saturday, the Nike Zoom Rookie “Galaxy” was one of the most hyped releases for the end of 2012. While it remains so, fiends will still have to wait a couple more weeks to get the shoes, as the drop date has been pushed back to October 19th. The coveted and much-replicated Galaxy pattern covers the heel around to the toe of the shoe, with black nubuck and pods breaking it up.

At $215, the sneakers follow the recent trend of breaking the two bills cap that held sneakers to a more manageable price for the last generation, but there is little doubt that the model will still sell out.

NIKE ZOOM ROOKIE “MATTE RED”

While we don’t have an exact release date yet, the Nike Zoom Rookie “Matte Red” has been a talking point since its first pictures were released. The shoe is a staple in sneaker collections, and this new model with a matte red covering the entire shoe save for the icy sole on the bottom should make for one of the more compelling releases of the silhouette. Despite the fact that we don’t yet have release info, you can pick up a pair now at soleawesome.

NIKE ZOOM UPTEMPO V PREMIUM SILVER/ORANGE

Important 90s sneaker models are all the rage this year, and reigning NBA Champion Jason Kidd’s first signature sneaker will be the next to drop. The retro release comes with a name change and update to colorway layout, but it maintains the flashy feel that made it so popular. Metallic solver covers the upper, while black rubber and orange accents provide contrast in a compelling combination of colors. There is also an outsole window to highlight Nike’s signature technology; the sneaker is available now overseas.

NIKE ZOOM KD IV “AUNT PEARL”

Durant is killing it in the Playoffs so far. But the dominant forward has a soft side, as well, and his signature shoes have always displayed that. The Nike Zoom KD IV is full of touches like his parents’ names and that of a childhood coach, but the newest colorway of the sneaker really shows how much of a softy the big guy really is. The new “Aunt Pearl” design is named after the star’s Aunt who was taken by breast cancer.

The all-pink upper is reminiscent of the Think Pink breast cancer initiative, while a print of pearls sits on the heel with obvious allusions. The shoes will drop everywhere on May 12th.

So you thought the “Galaxy” hype was over? Well not if Blake Griffin has anything to say about it. The Player Edition Nike Zoom Hyperdunk 2011 Supreme debuted on the court by Griffin in the 2012 All-Star Game proves that there are still a few ways that Nike can work its immensely hyped theme into its equally hyped models alongside the names of the NBA’s biggest players. The intergalactic upper, star-speckled midsole, and far-out logo set this pair off, which will be available shortly.
