DERRICK ROSE BROUGHT TO TEARS AT UNVEILING OF HIS NEW SNEAKER

Derrick Rose carries an authenticity with him everywhere he goes that embodies a true desire to bring his team, his city, and his fans to victory. That truth is one of the reasons that he is so loved in Chicago, and also a large part of the success of his line of sneakers with adidas. For the unveiling of his newest shoe, a press conference was held where a video showing his injury in the playoffs last year and subsequent rehabilitation brought the star to tear - not the first time such a thing has happened.

Rose eventually drew the strength to speak on his emotions after hanging his head low and crying for some time. LA times reports:

“It’s truly a blessing with all the stuff that is going on in the city,” said Rose, who starred at Englewood High in South Chicago and spent one college season at Memphis before becoming the No. 1 draft pick in 2008. “A kid from Englewood’s got something positive going on. That makes me feel so good. … To have my true fans, that means a lot to me, and I know it means a lot to my family.”

JEREMY SCOTT INTERVIEW ON CNN

Jeremy Scott may seem outrageous and eccentric at all times if you were to just look at his exciting shoe designs and startling high fashion, but in this interview with CNN, you can see that the designer is simply another guy eternally grateful to have been put in the situation he has to spread his philosophies around the world through his art. The artist speaks on his recent acceptance into street sneaker culture and how that differs from seeing his work on the carefully sculpted bodies of his celebrity friends, and even tells the story of a girl he met who traveled from across the United States to meet him at his recent LA meet-and-greet. Check out his soon-to-be-released Bart Simpson sweater, as well.

SEBASTIEN DAUREL - ADIDAS DIAGONAL SKATE VIDEO

Now a few years old, adidas stood at the forefront of progressive skate videos when they made their film Diagonal back in 2009. The film took two years to film in Europe, USA, and China and took members of the adidas European skate team alongside appearances from Dennis Busenitz, Silas Baxter Nealand, and the Gonz (who skates alongside the kid from Germany who tears it up).

Back in the day, they were mimicking Nike SB who had been one of the first to offer up their Am team skate video for free download.

While it wasn’t the end of skate DVDs, it made a lasting impression, and most skate video content is now shared for free online with different sources of revenue. The video above is an excerpt from this skate film, and is one of the most entertaining skate videos I have ever posted.

You can watch the entire film here or get it from adidas’ site where they are giving it away for free; there’s some really compelling stuff.
