PARANORMAN X NIKE FOAMPOSITE EXCLUSIVE GIVEAWAY

The Nike Foamposite is the shoe of the year, and collaborative sneaker releases have always been a huge selling point for compelling sneaker designs. An even better selling point is when a release comes with no actual sales; the only way to get the Paranorman Nike Foamposite - with integrated design, glow in the dark soles, and branded detailing on the heel tabs incorporating imagery from the movie - is to win one of just 800 pairs through Nike’s giveaway here.

The campaign involves tweeting @Paranorman one of the weirdest photos your parents ever took of you. Good luck beating mine with the mullet-perm combo in bright blue sailor overalls.

Prior Supreme and Nike collaborations have created some of the most coveted sneakers ever, and a release that happens tomorrow should create similar levels of jealousy. New pictures from the brand also give a look at the black outsoles, lining, laces, and Swoosh which add contrast.
New York, London, and Los Angeles stores - as well as online chapters - receive the shoes tomorrow, July 19th. Japan receives the sneaker on the 21st.

AMAZING SPIDERMAN CUSTOM FLIGHTPOSITE 3 BY MACHE

In the Summer of record-breaking comicbook movie releases, Foamposite and Flyposite hype, and custom sneaker design blog recognition (at least for color flips), no one has rocked it harder than Dan Gamache of Mache Customs. His latest work does exactly what good custom shoe design is supposed to do, and brings together iconic patterns and a compelling sneaker silhouette into a well-thought-out and inspired theme. The result is a shoe that would break necks without dominating an outfit. Mache is certainly one of the best out there at creating shoe designs that can work with various styles.

NIKE LEBRON 9 “WEATHERMAN” CUSTOM BY SAB-ONE

When Kevin Durant’s “Weatherman” colorway for the Nike Zoom KDIV came out, it was predicted by some to be the next “NERF” or “South Beach” in color flip customs, but quickly slipped under the radar (no pun intended) when the “Galaxy” phenomenon swept the community. Some of the bigger names in customs didn’t forget this highly compelling makeup, and Sab-One recently took to a staple in color flips to show how well it could cross over. His Lebron 9 custom matches the color palette almost perfectly, and recreated the Doppler Radar pattern on the ankle and inside the shoe.

Sab works almost exclusively in one-offs, but you can ask for your own at his site.

NIKE AIR YEEZY II

The Nike Air Yeezy II hits stores on June 9th, and the hype could not be greater. With international stores like Solebox allowing for camping, the overseas release should prove to be one of the largest we have ever seen. The sneaker features an evolution from the previous, late 80s basketball foundation of the Air Yeezy I, with Nike Air Tech Challenge II tennis shoe outsole and Cross Training silhouette influence amidst the premium materials in the leather, ballistic nylon and soft nubuck makeup.

The shoe cuts out all unnecessary padding in exchange for sleek design, and features minimal but notable references to ancient civilizations in the loop strap hieroglyphics that spell out ‘YZY,’ as well as the screw-on obelisk-shaped lace aglets and leather lace toggle with Roman numeral ‘II.’ Reptilian textures and features embue the sneaker, giving an animalistic feel to a futuristic yet history-recognizing sneaker design. Expect the shoes to sell out quickly even at their €260 price point.

ODD FUTURE AT MILK STUDIOS BY TERRY RICHARDSON

OFWGKTA’s much-hyped music video for “Oldie,” which also marked the anticipated return of Earl Sweatshirt to the group, was shot in the studio with portrait-photographer-extraordinaire-to-the-stars Terry Richardson. The entire music video was pretty much just a bunch of kids messing around in the studio of one of the most influential photographers out while the track played in the background. Richardson uploaded a boatload of photos from the shoot today, which you can see on his Tumblr blog. Also, you should probably follow him if you want to know what’s going on in contemporary photography or with Kate Upton’s dance career

AIR JORDAN XII “COOL GREY”
In case you missed it because midnight releases are all but illegal anymore, the Cool Grey Air Jordan XII dropped this past weekend. At $160, the rerelease features a Bobcats-esque colorway. But don’t let that turn you off, because the cool grey across the majority of the base blends well with the team orange details in the side and tongue borders. You should still be able to find the sneakers online or in store.

NIKE AIR FOAMPOSITE ONE “GOLD MEDAL”
When info was released that four more Foamposites were set to release this year, speculations of the colorway began. It looks like we have our first preview of what to expect, and it fits in line with what Nike has been doing leading up to the Summer Olympic Games, which gives some weight to the argument that the leaked image is real. The Nike Air Foamposite One “Gold Medal” takes the obvious source of inspiration and places a metallic gold upper above a clear outsole.

REEBOK QUESTION MID WHITE/NAVY PREVIEWED ON SWIZZ BEATZ’ INSTAGRAM

Remember when Allen Iverson debuted the first sneakers with Hexalite cushion technology ever to grace a Reebok show? Remember when the shoe became a smash hit amongst sneakerheads? And then do you remember when Iverson crossed the hell out of Michael Jordan? When that happened, the Answer was wearing a new colorway of the Question sneaker, not the Red/White model confirmed for rerelease recently.
But rumor has it that the sneaker will also be dropping in this classic White/Navy colorway, and Swizz Beatz recently took to Instagram to preview the shoe. Swizz claims that “the Sun will shine on May 25th when the AI Questions drop,” which makes it seem that both models will emerge from the Reebok Vault exclusively and together. Stay tuned for more info.
